What is the GA3312 brake pad used for?
GA3312 is a front brake pad set for vehicles fitted with a brake pad wear sensor. The friction pads clamp against the front brake disc when the caliper piston is applied, and cutouts in the pad allow the sensor wiring to run through. It fits the front caliper on Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic.
What happens when the wear sensor pads on a Discovery 1 or Range Rover Classic wear down?
Once the friction material wears to the sensor's contact point, the sensor wire completes a circuit and triggers the dashboard brake pad warning light. At that point the pad is at or near its minimum thickness and needs replacing before the backing plate contacts the disc. Replace both pads on the axle together.
Does GA3312 fit both Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic?
