Are the retaining clips included?
Yes, this set is supplied as an axle set with clips, so the pad retaining hardware is in the box. The pads should still be renewed as a complete axle set, both sides together, so braking effort stays balanced from side to side.
What should I do before fitting on an electric park brake?
On vehicles with an electronic parking brake, put the rear calipers into service mode with a diagnostic tool before winding back the pistons. Skipping this can damage the park-brake actuator. Also check the guide pins move freely and inspect the discs before fitting.
Why do rear brake pads need replacing?
Rear brake pads are replaced once the friction material wears down, which shows as reduced braking, noise, or a wear warning. On these models the rear pads also carry park-brake clamp load, so worn rear pads can weaken parking-brake hold as well as service braking.
