Frequently asked questions

What is the T4K17558 rear brake pad axle set for?
The T4K17558 rear brake pad axle set provides the rear service-brake friction on the Jaguar I-PACE (X590) from 2018. Supplied as a complete axle set covering both rear wheels, the pads sit in the caliper carrier and are clamped against the rear disc under hydraulic pressure.
Why is it supplied as an axle set?
It's supplied as a rear axle set so both sides are renewed together, keeping braking effort balanced across the axle and preventing the uneven pad wear that follows a single-side replacement. You fit both rear wheels from one box on the I-PACE.
Do electric I-PACE rear pads wear differently?
Yes. On the electric I-PACE much of the routine deceleration is handled by regenerative braking, so the rear friction material sees less work than on a conventional car. Rear pads and discs are more prone to surface corrosion and glazing than wear, so inspect their condition at every service.
What should I check when fitting these pads?
When fitting these rear pads, check that the caliper slides and pistons move freely, then bed the new pads in progressively before hard use. Because the I-PACE leans on regen braking, lightly used rear brakes can seize or corrode, so free-moving calipers matter for even pad contact.
