Frequently asked questions

What is the MMD3563 rear spring pan?
The MMD3563 is the upper seat, or pan, for the rear road spring in the rear suspension. It caps the top of the coil and transfers spring load into the body-side mounting, holding the spring square. It fits the Jaguar XJ (XJ40, X300, X308) and XK8 (X100).
Are there VIN limits on this spring pan?
Yes. On the Jaguar XJ it applies to XJ40 from VIN 500001 to 708757 and X308 from VIN 812317 to F59525, plus the X300 and XK8 (X100). Check your chassis number against those ranges before ordering the rear spring pan.
How many rear spring pans are needed?
There's one rear spring pan per side, so a full rear job uses two. It's worth inspecting both sides when replacing one, since the pans age together and a distorted or corroded pan lets the rear spring sit off-square on the Jaguar.
