What is this bolt used for?
This is an M12 x 45mm bolt that secures the front knuckle and hub assembly on Land Rover suspension. It fixes the hub to the knuckle within the wheel bearing assembly on the New Defender, Discovery 5, Range Rover L460, Range Rover Sport L461 and Velar.
How many of these bolts are needed?
Quantity depends on the vehicle. The Discovery 5 uses eight of these knuckle and hub bolts per vehicle, so a full job can need several. Check how many your specific corner or axle uses before ordering.
Can the knuckle and hub bolt be reused?
This knuckle and hub bolt should be replaced whenever it's removed, rather than reused. It's a single-use fixing by design, and fitting a fresh M12 x 45mm bolt maintains correct clamping on the hub-to-knuckle joint.
