Dim-Dip controle-eenheid regelt de dim-dip koplampfunctie binnen het externe verlichtingscircuit.

Het dim-dip systeem laat de koplampen branden met verminderde intensiteit wanneer de stadslichten zijn ingeschakeld en het contact aanstaat, in plaats van toe te staan dat het voertuig alleen met stadslichten rijdt. In combinatie met een serieweerstand schakelt de controle-eenheid de koplampvoeding naar het dim-dip niveau met verminderd vermogen en regelt de overgang naar volledig gedimd licht.

Het is gemonteerd in voertuigen die gebouwd zijn volgens de Britse dim-dip verlichtingsspecificatie.

The dim-dip control unit runs the headlamps at reduced intensity when the sidelights are selected with the ignition on, instead of letting the vehicle be driven on sidelights alone. Working with a series ballast resistor, it switches the headlamp feed to the dim-dip level and manages the change to full dipped beam.
Which vehicles use the dim-dip control unit?
The dim-dip control unit is fitted to UK-market GB Defenders built to the dim-dip headlamp specification, from VIN HA705857. It's a Lucas unit. Vehicles outside the UK dim-dip specification don't use it, so confirm your Defender was built with dim-dip lighting.
