Frequently asked questions

What does the fuel spill return pipe do?
The fuel spill return pipe connects the injector leak-off ports to the fuel return line on the M47 2.0 litre diesel engine. It collects spill, or leak-off, fuel from the injectors and returns it to the low-pressure return circuit. Fitted to the Freelander 1 Td4.
Which Freelander does this pipe fit?
This spill return pipe fits the Freelander 1 (1996 to 2006) with the M47 2.0 litre four-cylinder Td4 diesel engine. It is a Genuine part specific to that injection system layout, so it is matched to the Td4 rather than other Freelander engines.
Why does the spill return pipe need replacing?
The spill return pipe can harden, crack or leak at the injector connections as it ages on the Td4 engine, letting air into the return circuit or weeping diesel. That can cause hard starting or running faults. Replacing the pipe restores a sealed leak-off path to the fuel return.
