What type of headlamp bulb is this?
This is a D3S HID xenon headlamp bulb supplied with its igniter, a mercury-free high-intensity discharge type rated at 35W and operating at around 42V. It has no filament: light comes from an arc struck inside a xenon-filled quartz capsule.
Which vehicles does this xenon bulb fit?
This D3S bulb fits headlamp units originally built as bi-xenon or adaptive xenon assemblies on the Discovery 4, Discovery Sport, Freelander 2, Range Rover L322 (2010-2012), Range Rover L405, Evoque L538, and Range Rover Sport L320 (2010-2013) and L494.
Will this fit a halogen headlamp?
No, this D3S bulb only fits headlamp units originally built as xenon/HID. It won't fit halogen headlamps, which use a different bulb type. Confirm your car left the factory with bi-xenon or adaptive xenon headlamps before ordering.
Should xenon bulbs be replaced in pairs?
Xenon bulbs are typically replaced in pairs so both headlamps match in colour and brightness, since HID output shifts as the bulb ages. If one D3S bulb has failed, the other is usually near the end of its life too.
