Nokkenastandwiel Een onderdeel van het distributiesysteem dat de aandrijving van de distributieketting naar de nokkenas overbrengt, waardoor de klepbediening gesynchroniseerd blijft met de rotatie van de krukas.

De tanden van het tandwiel grijpen in de distributieketting en positioneren de nokkenas ten opzichte van de timingmarkeringen van de motor, zodat de inlaat- en uitlaatkleppen op het juiste punt in elke cyclus openen en sluiten. Gemonteerd op de 2.0L 16-kleps turbo benzinemotor (AJ200).

Een correcte staat en installatie van het tandwiel zijn essentieel voor het handhaven van de kleptiming; slijtage of onjuiste montage kan de timing vervroegen of vertragen en de motorloop beïnvloeden.
