It's the fluid service kit for the ZF 8HP eight-speed automatic gearbox, covering the pan and fluid change. The 8HP has no dipstick, so filling and levelling are done through the pan at a specified fluid temperature.
What's included in the kit?
It includes the transmission fluid itself, so that's covered in one purchase. Depending on the exact kit, a pan gasket may also be included. Check the product listing for the full contents before ordering.
Why does ZF 8HP transmission fluid need changing?
Working fluid degrades with heat and mileage, and deteriorated fluid is a common cause of harsh or delayed shifts on this gearbox. Since there's no dipstick, a fluid change is also the main way to inspect and top up the level.
