What is the Torque Converter Oil Seal?
The Torque Converter Oil Seal seals the front of the ZF 9HP nine-speed automatic where the torque converter hub enters the pump housing. It runs against the converter neck to hold transmission fluid at the input side of the gearbox.
Where is the torque converter seal fitted?
The torque converter seal is fitted at the front of the ZF 9HP nine-speed auto, where the converter meets the transmission pump between engine and gearbox. It is typically renewed when the converter is removed or the transmission is separated from the engine.
When does the torque converter seal need renewing?
Renew the torque converter seal whenever the converter is removed or the gearbox is split from the engine. A failed seal can allow transmission fluid to leak at the front of the box, so it is replaced as standard during that job.
