What's in the GA5629E seat retrim kit?
GA5629E includes a cushion foam, squab foam, cushion cover, squab cover and headrest cover in black, plus six plastic nails, two metal rods, three cable ties and one rubber retainer, for rebuilding one front outer seat.
Will this kit fit any Defender?
It's designed for the non-plastic-backed front squab on Defenders built 1986 to 2006. It's equivalent to the BritPart code DA5629E, also listed under DA5629.
Do I need to buy anything separately?
Yes, contact adhesive spray isn't included and needs to be ordered on its own to secure the new foam and covers.
How do I know if my seat squab is non-plastic-backed?
Check the underside of your current squab foam. Plastic-backed squabs have a rigid plastic shell moulded into the base; if yours doesn't have that, it's the non-plastic-backed type this kit is designed for.
