What is the GA8084 sound deadening for?
The GA8084 is a self-adhesive butyl and aluminium damping panel cut for the seat box, which sits directly over the gearbox and transfer box. It damps the driveline and exhaust noise that box transmits into the cabin, converting vibration into heat rather than letting it radiate as sound.
Does the GA8084 fit all Defenders?
No, Puma-era Defenders only, built 2007 to 2016. It's shaped for the Puma seat box and does not fit pre-2007 Defenders with the earlier chassis layout, so confirm your build year before ordering.
Where exactly does the GA8084 get fitted?
It fits directly onto the seat box panels beneath the seats and trim, applied before the seats and covering trim go back on. Since the seat box sits over the gearbox and transfer box, this is one of the higher-value spots for reducing driveline noise in the cabin.
