This is a repair kit for the brake master cylinder on the Discovery 2 (1999-2004). It contains the seals and internal parts to overhaul the tandem master cylinder that turns brake pedal effort into hydraulic pressure for the front and rear circuits.
Does this kit fit every Discovery 2 master cylinder?
This kit fits Discovery 2 master cylinders from VIN XA232917 onwards. Earlier vehicles need a different kit: SJJ100360 up to VIN XA222500, or SJJ100361 between XA222501 and XA232916. Check your VIN before ordering.
What are the signs the master cylinder needs an overhaul?
Signs the Discovery 2 master cylinder seals need work include a brake pedal that slowly sinks under steady foot pressure, or fluid loss with no external leak. Internal seal bypass is the usual cause and it reduces braking performance.
