Wanneer u een metrisch differentieelcentrum met metrische lagers in een imperiale behuizing monteert, heeft u de volgende extra onderdelen nodig. Differentiëlen gingen van imperiaal naar metrisch rond 1983. What is the DA5705 limited-slip differential?
The DA5705 is a helical-gear limited-slip differential (Detroit TrueTrac type) for the rear axle, with a 10-spline output. It biases torque towards the wheel with more grip, which helps traction on Series, Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic axles.
Does this differential need servicing?
No, this limited-slip differential is maintenance-free. The helical gear design biases torque without friction clutch packs, so there are no wearing clutch plates to replace and no special LSD oil additive needed, unlike plate-type limited-slip units.
How do I tell if my axle has a metric or imperial diff casing?
Land Rover changed from imperial to metric differentials around 1983. To identify a casing, check the head of one of the four large journal end-cap bolts: an '8.8T' marking indicates a metric casing, while no marking indicates an imperial casing.
Can this metric centre fit an imperial casing?
Yes, but this is a metric diff centre with metric bearings, so fitting it into an imperial casing needs extra adaptor parts, a spacer ring and imperial bearing sleeves, plus RTC3095 taper bearings (two required). Into a metric casing it fits directly.
