The LR174890 services the positive crankcase ventilation valve on the 2.0L Ingenium petrol engine (AJ200 / AJ20P4). The valve controls how blow-by gas is drawn from the crankcase into the intake as manifold depression changes with engine load. Allmakes supplies it as an aftermarket kit.

Which models take this 2.0L PCV valve kit?

Discovery Sport L550 from 2015, Range Rover Evoque L538 2012 to 2018, and Range Rover Evoque L551 from 2019, all with the 2.0L AJ200 or AJ20P4 petrol engine. Diesel Ingenium versions of the same models use a different crankcase ventilation arrangement.

What happens when the PCV valve fails on a 2.0L Ingenium?

A perished diaphragm lets excessive depression act on the crankcase, which typically shows as raised oil consumption, an unstable idle, and unmetered air entering the intake tract. On the AJ200 this often gets chased as a vacuum leak before the valve is suspected.

Is the PCV valve worth replacing preventively?

Only if symptoms are present. There's no benefit in changing a healthy valve, but if the 2.0L AJ200 is using oil with no external leak and idles unevenly, the PCV valve is one of the first things to check. Consult your vehicle's service schedule for emission system checks.
