This is a double-platinum spark plug (Denso) for the AJ-V8 petrol engine. Platinum on both centre and ground electrodes resists gap erosion, so the plug maintains its firing voltage over a longer service life than a conventional nickel-alloy plug.
How many spark plugs does a V8 Jaguar engine need?
Eight plugs are required for a complete V8 engine. They should be replaced as a full set so all cylinders run the same gap and heat range. Mixing worn and new plugs produces uneven combustion and can register as a misfire fault.
