Frequently asked questions

What is the TFR2012 coilover shock and what does it do?
The TFR2012 is a coilover shock, the combined damper and spring platform of a coilover suspension unit. It has a 2.0in bore body with 12in of shaft travel and a finned remote reservoir that raises oil volume and adds cooling to resist fade. It mounts on 5/8in (16mm) x 38mm spherical bearings top and bottom.
What's the difference between the 2.0in and 2.5in bore coilovers?
The 2.0in bore is the smaller of the two body sizes and suits lower-mass vehicles and slower-speed work such as rock crawling, where the damper generates less heat. The 2.5in bore carries more oil and dissipates more heat where that's needed. Pick the 2.0in for lighter, lower-speed applications.
Does this coilover come with a spring and mounts?
No. Springs are ordered separately and must match the 2.0in spring seat diameter. Mounting brackets aren't supplied either, so the shock needs mounting arranged to suit the vehicle. The TFR2012 is a universal motorsport component, not a bolt-on vehicle-specific part.
What are the mounting bearings on the TFR2012?
The TFR2012 mounts on 5/8in (16mm) x 38mm spherical bearings at both ends. These let the shock swivel as the axle articulates rather than loading the body off-axis. Because mounting is model-specific, confirm your brackets match this bearing size before fitting.
