Distributieriem voor de nokkenasaandrijving van de 300 TDi dieselmotor, die draait binnen de distributieriem- en spannerconstructie aan de voorkant van de motor.

Deze brengt de aandrijving over van de krukas naar de nokkenas en de injectiepomp, waarbij hun rotatie wordt gesynchroniseerd om de juiste klep- en injectietiming te handhaven. De riem loopt in combinatie met de distributieriemspanner en bijbehorende aandrijfpoelies.

What is the ERR1092R timing belt and what does it do?
The ERR1092R timing belt drives the camshaft on the 300Tdi 2.5L diesel engine, transmitting drive from the crankshaft to the camshaft and injection pump so valve and injection timing stay synchronised. It runs at the front of the engine with the tensioner and drive pulleys.
Why does the timing belt need replacing on the 300Tdi?
The timing belt should be renewed at the manufacturer's recommended interval because the 300Tdi is an interference engine. A snapped belt typically lets the pistons hit the valves and causes major internal damage. Rubber belts harden with age too, so condition matters as much as mileage.
