Frequently asked questions

Which vehicles does the T2H40589-G wheel bearing kit fit?
T2H40589-G is a sealed hub bearing unit for Jaguar models only, with no Land Rover fitment. It serves the rear hubs on the XE, XF, F-PACE and I-PACE, front and rear on the E-PACE, and the front hubs on the AWD XJ (X351) and the F-TYPE.
Can this wheel bearing be fitted with a hammer?
No, the bearing must be drawn into the hub carrier with proper press tooling. Driving it in with impacts damages the raceways and shortens its life. The axle nut is a single use part and has to be renewed on reassembly.
What are the symptoms of a failing wheel bearing?
A failing hub bearing typically hums or drones with road speed, often changing note through corners as the load shifts. Play at the jacked wheel or an ABS fault can follow. The unit is sealed and pre set, so it is renewed complete rather than repacked.
