Frequently asked questions

What is the LR186378LR accessory drive belt?
The LR186378LR is the genuine accessory drive belt for the 2.0L Ingenium four-cylinder engine (AJ200/AJ20P4, petrol and diesel), used on the New Defender L663, Discovery 5, Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque L551 and Velar. It's the multi-ribbed belt driving the front-end ancillaries from the crankshaft pulley.
When should this drive belt be renewed?
Renew the belt when the ribbed face shows cracking, glazing, edge fraying, missing ribs or oil and coolant contamination. It's a routine service inspection item on the 2.0L Ingenium engine. Check the automatic tensioner and idler pulleys for roughness or play at the same time.
What happens if the tensioner is worn?
A tired tensioner won't hold correct belt tension, which shortens a new belt's life and can allow the belt to be thrown. So inspect the tensioner and idler bearings whenever you fit this belt to the 2.0L Ingenium engine, and renew them if worn.
