What is the XZQ500020 H8 halogen bulb?
The XZQ500020 is a 12V 35W single-filament H8 halogen bulb with a PGJ19-1 base. It's specified for front lamp positions such as fog and front flasher applications on the Discovery 3, Range Rover L322 and Range Rover Sport L320.
Can I use an H9 or H11 bulb instead of the H8?
No. The H8, H9 and H11 share a similar envelope and connector family but differ in base keying and rated wattage, so they can't be substituted for one another. Fit an H8 where an H8 is specified or the bulb won't seat or draw correctly.
Is there anything to watch when fitting this halogen bulb?
Handle the quartz envelope by the base only. Skin oils on the glass create hot spots that shorten bulb life. If you touch the glass, clean it with alcohol before fitting. This applies to the H8 on any of its Land Rover applications.
