The front splash shield is a moulded undershield fitted beneath the front of the vehicle, below the radiator bay. It blocks road spray, water, and debris from being thrown up into the engine bay, helping protect the radiator and cooling system components.
Which models does this front splash shield fit?
This splash shield fits the Land Rover Discovery 3 (2005-2009), Discovery 4 (2010-2016), and Range Rover Sport L320 (2005-2013). There are VIN breaks within these ranges, so check your chassis number to confirm the right shield for your build.
Why does the fitment depend on my VIN?
The shield design changed mid-production on these models. On the Discovery 3 and early Range Rover Sport L320 it's the body shield up to VIN 9A999999, while the Discovery 4 and later builds from VIN AA000001 use the undertray version. Check your chassis number against these breaks.
Is the front splash shield easy to fit?
Fitting the front splash shield is typically a straightforward DIY job, secured by bolts or clips from underneath the vehicle. You'll usually need to raise the front and support it safely on axle stands to reach the fixings beneath the radiator bay.
