What does the LR002342 oil cooler seal kit fit?

The LR002342 renews the oil separator seal on the oil cooler and filter housing of the Range Rover L322 and Range Rover Sport L320's 3.6 V8 Td8 diesel engine. It stops oil escaping from the cooler and filter assembly on the front of the block.

Why does the oil separator seal need replacing?

The seal typically hardens with age and heat cycling from the oil cooler, and once it does it tends to weep oil from the filter housing joint. Left too long this can lead to a persistent oil leak and low oil level.

Does the LR002342 fit both the early and later L322 Range Rover?

Yes, but the correct VIN range matters. It covers L322 2002-2009 from VIN 7A000001 and L322 2010-2012 from VIN AA000001, so check your chassis number falls in one of those windows before ordering.
