What does the LR008130 exhaust valve do?
The LR008130 exhaust valve seals the combustion chamber against the exhaust port in the cylinder head and opens to release spent gases into the exhaust manifold. It fits the 2.7L and 3.0L TDV6 and the 3.6L and 4.4L TDV8 diesel engines.
How many exhaust valves does the engine use?
Twelve exhaust valves are fitted per engine according to Land Rover's data for this application. A cylinder head rebuild uses a full set, so order the quantity to match your engine's valve count. They're sold individually.
What are the signs an exhaust valve needs replacing?
Worn or burnt exhaust valves typically cause loss of compression, rough running and poor starting on these TDV6 and TDV8 diesels. Valves that don't seal let combustion gases escape and drop power, so they're usually renewed during a cylinder head overhaul.
