Frequently asked questions

What is the LR009719 cylinder head gasket for?
It's the Grade 2 cylinder head gasket for the 2.7L TDV6 diesel, fitted to the Discovery 3, Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport L320. It seals the joint between the cylinder head and block, containing combustion pressure and sealing the coolant and oil passages.
How do I know I need Grade 2?
Grade 2 must match the thickness grade stamped on your original gasket or block. It's one of several selective thicknesses on the 2.7 TDV6 and isn't interchangeable with Grade 3 or Grade 5, so check the stamp before ordering.
What happens if I fit the wrong grade?
Fitting the wrong grade changes the head-to-block clearance and can lead to sealing failure. Grade 2 is a specific selective thickness, so confirm your engine calls for Grade 2 rather than another grade before fitting.
