What is the inlet manifold air duct used for?
The inlet manifold air duct is the moulded elbow that routes charge air into the inlet manifold on the 3.6 litre V8 Td8 diesel engine. It joins the charge air pipework to the manifold inlet and seals the pressurised intake path downstream of the intercooler.
Which engine does this air duct fit?
This air duct fits the 3.6 Td8 V8 diesel engine only. It doesn't interchange with the V6 diesel or petrol installations. Applications are the Range Rover L322 (2002-2012) and Range Rover Sport L320 (2005-2013).
Why does the inlet manifold air duct fail?
The inlet manifold air duct typically hardens and cracks from underbonnet heat cycling, as it's a moulded plastic part in a hot position. A split lets boost pressure escape, which usually shows as reduced power together with a boost pressure fault.
How do I confirm this fits my vehicle?
This duct fits the Range Rover L322 (2002-2012) and Range Rover Sport L320 (2005-2013) with the 3.6 Td8 V8 diesel engine only. Confirm your engine before ordering, as V6 diesel and petrol variants use a different duct.
