Deze elektronisch geregelde viscokoppeling wordt gemonteerd op de neus van de waterpomp en drijft de motorkoelventilator aan. De koppeling varieert de inschakeling van de ventilator als reactie op elektronische regelsignalen van het motormanagementsysteem, waarbij de luchtstroom door de radiator en condensor wordt gemoduleerd op basis van koelvloeistoftemperatuur en belasting. Bij een lage thermische vraag slipt de koppeling vrij, waardoor de parasitaire belasting en het ventilatorgeluid afnemen; bij hoge belasting neemt de inschakeling geleidelijk toe om de koelcapaciteit te maximaliseren.
