What is the LR162965G rear lamp?
The LR162965G is the right-hand rear stop and flasher lamp (LR part LR162965) for the Range Rover Sport L320. It combines the brake light and indicator in one sealed lens and reflector unit, mounted in the rear body panel and connected to the rear harness by a multi-plug. This is the version without integrated side marker lamps.
Why do these rear lamp units fail?
Rear lamp units typically fail when the housing seal lets water in, corroding the internal contacts and connector and causing intermittent or dead stop and indicator functions. Before replacing, check the earth path and connector condition, since a poor earth can mimic a failed lamp. The lens and reflector aren't separately serviceable.
