Remschijf voor is de geventileerde rotor die op de voorwielnaaf wordt gemonteerd en het wrijvingsoppervlak vormt voor de voorremklauw en de remblokken.

De intern geventileerde constructie zuigt koellucht aan tussen de twee wrijvingsvlakken om warmte af te voeren tijdens langdurig of zwaar remmen, waardoor fading en thermische vervorming van de remmen wordt beperkt. Het maakt deel uit van de voorremconstructie en roteert mee met het wiel terwijl de remklauw de remblokken tegen beide vlakken klemt om remkracht te genereren.
