Remschijf voor is de geventileerde rotor die op de voornaaf wordt gemonteerd en het wrijvingsoppervlak vormt voor de remklauw en remblokken vooraan. De wrijvingsoppervlakken zijn kruisgeboord en gegroefd.

De intern geventileerde constructie zuigt koellucht aan tussen de twee wrijvingsoppervlakken om warmte af te voeren tijdens langdurig of zwaar remmen, terwijl het kruisboren en groeven helpen om gas, stof en water uit het contactgebied van de remblokken te verwijderen en de initiële aangrijping te verbeteren.
