What is the TF638 big brake kit?
The TF638 is a 340mm front brake upgrade kit for the Discovery 3, Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport L320 (2005-2009). It raises the front disc from 320mm to 340mm and retains the original calipers, supplying repositioning brackets, Terrafirma CDG discs and performance pads.
How is this different from the 360mm kits?
The TF638 keeps your original front calipers and moves them out on brackets to suit a 340mm disc, where the 360mm kits (TF633, TF637) replace the calipers entirely. The 340mm route is simpler and lower cost; the 360mm route gives the larger rotor.
What does the 340mm disc improve?
The larger 340mm rotor lengthens the braking radius and adds thermal mass at the front axle over the standard 320mm, increasing stopping power and fade resistance under repeated or laden braking on the Discovery and Range Rover Sport.
Which vehicles does it fit?
The TF638 fits the Discovery 3 (2005-2009), Discovery 4 (2010-2016) and Range Rover Sport L320 (2005-2009 only). Check wheel clearance for the 340mm disc before ordering, as fitment varies with wheel design.
