What is the electronic parking brake actuator and what does it do?

The electronic parking brake actuator is a self-contained electric motor and gear unit mounted on the left-hand rear brake caliper. On command from the EPB module it drives the caliper piston to clamp the pads against the disc, applying and releasing the parking brake electrically instead of a cable. This is an ATE OEM unit.

Which vehicles and side does this actuator fit?

This actuator fits the left-hand rear caliper of the Discovery Sport (2015+), Range Rover Evoque L538 (2012-2018), Range Rover Evoque L551 (2019+) and Range Rover Velar. It's side-specific, so confirm you need the left-hand actuator.
