The crankcase breather tube routes crankcase blow-by gases from the engine as part of the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) circuit on the 3.0L supercharged V6 petrol. It returns the gases to the air intake for controlled combustion and helps maintain correct crankcase pressure.
Which vehicles and engine does this breather tube fit?
This breather tube fits the 3.0L supercharged V6 petrol in the Discovery 4, Discovery 5, Range Rover L405, Range Rover Sport L494 and Range Rover Velar. It's for the supercharged petrol V6 only, so confirm your engine before ordering; it doesn't fit diesel.
What are the signs the breather tube needs replacing?
