Transmissie beschermplaat - een bodemplaat die de lagere transmissie beschermt, waar de versnellingsbak, tussenbak en handremconstructie iets onder de chassisbalken zitten en blootgesteld zijn aan impacts.

De beschermplaat wordt vastgeschroefd aan de bestaande voorgeboorde bevestigingspunten onder het chassis en presenteert een vlak oppervlak dat over rotsen en obstakels glijdt in plaats van eraan te blijven haken, waardoor de transmissie en handrem worden beschermd tijdens off-road gebruik. Alle benodigde bevestigingsmaterialen worden meegeleverd. Het is ontworpen om samen met de bijbehorende stuurbeschermer, TF828, te worden gemonteerd.

What is the TF830 transmission guard used for?
The TF830 transmission guard is an alloy under-body skid plate that shields the lower gearbox, transfer box and handbrake assembly on the Discovery 3 and Discovery 4. These sit slightly below the chassis rails, so the guard's flat face slides over rocks and obstacles instead of snagging on them during off-road use.
How is the transmission guard fitted?
The transmission guard bolts to the existing pre-drilled mounting points beneath the chassis, and all necessary fixings are supplied. It's typically a straightforward bolt-on job needing basic hand tools and axle stands, with no drilling or cutting on most Discovery 3 and Discovery 4 applications.
Does this work with the matching steering guard?
Yes, the TF830 transmission guard is designed to be fitted alongside the companion Terrafirma steering guard, TF828, which protects the steering components at the front. Many owners fit both together to build up under-body protection on the Discovery 3 and Discovery 4.
What's the advantage of the alloy guard over a steel one?
The alloy transmission guard is lighter than the equivalent steel guard, which keeps added weight down while still shielding the transmission.
