This is a rubber weather seal fitted between the top of the door and the windscreen frame. It closes the gap along the upper door-to-windscreen joint to keep water and draughts out of the cabin.

It seals the leading edge of the door aperture where the door meets the windscreen frame, at the top of the door opening. This is a Genuine Land Rover part.

What happens if this seal fails?

A perished or split seal lets water and wind noise into the cabin at the top of the door, particularly noticeable at speed or in wet weather. Replacing it restores the seal along that joint.
