Frequently asked questions

What is the BR 1077P rear shock absorber?

The BR 1077P is a Pro-Comp gas rear shock absorber giving a +1 inch (25mm) lift. It's a progressive-rate rear shock for the Defender up to 2016, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic, suiting mildly raised suspension.

What does the +1 inch rating mean?

The +1 inch (25mm) rating means this Pro-Comp shock is valved and sized for suspension raised up to 25mm over standard. It suits vehicles running a mild lift, matching the shock travel to the taller ride height.

Where does this shock fit on the vehicle?

This BR 1077P shock fits the rear axle of the Defender up to 2016, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic. It's a gas-charged progressive shock mounted between the rear axle and the chassis mounts.

Do I need one or a pair?

The BR 1077P rear shock is sold individually, but shocks should be replaced in axle pairs. Fit both rear shocks together so damping stays balanced side to side, especially on a lifted setup.
