The front spring retention ring clamps the upper end of the front road spring, securing it against its seat on the chassis spring turret. It's fitted to the Defender (up to 2006), Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic front coil-spring suspension to hold the spring captive at the top.

What fixings hold the spring retention ring in place?

The ring is retained by four nuts (NH605041L) and four spring washers (WM600051L), which aren't included and are ordered separately. On the Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic front suspension, these eight fixings clamp the ring onto the spring seat, so order them alongside the ring if yours are corroded.
