Remschijf - geventileerde remschijf vooraan, gecoate remschijf die deel uitmaakt van de voorremconstructie.

De schijf vormt het wrijvingsoppervlak waartegen de voorremblokken klemmen tijdens het remmen. De geventileerde (intern geventileerde) constructie zuigt lucht door de schijf om warmte af te voeren tijdens langdurig of zwaar remmen, waardoor het risico op remfading wordt verminderd. De schijf wordt op de voornaaf gemonteerd en draait mee met het wiel.

Een beschermende anticorrosiecoating wordt aangebracht op de niet-wrijvingsoppervlakken - de middennaaf en de buitenrand - om roest te weerstaan en het uiterlijk te behouden. De coating slijt van de wrijvingsband bij normaal gebruik als de remblokken inslijten.
