Achterremschijf - Gecoat - een geventileerde remschijf voor de achteras, onderdeel van de schijfremconstructie achter.

De schijf is vastgeschroefd aan en roteert met de naaf van het achterwiel. Bij het remmen drukt de remklauw de remblokken tegen beide wrijvingsoppervlakken, waardoor de bewegingsenergie van het voertuig wordt omgezet in warmte. De intern geventileerde constructie plaatst koelvinnen tussen de twee oppervlakken, die lucht door de rotor trekken om die warmte af te voeren en remfading te weerstaan tijdens langdurig of zwaar remmen.

Een beschermende coating bedekt de schijf om corrosie op de centrale hoed, randen en koelvinnen te voorkomen; de coating op de wrijvingsvlakken slijt weg tijdens de initiële inloopperiode.

What is this rear coated brake disc and what does it do?
It's a rear vented brake disc with an anti-corrosion coating, bolted to and rotating with the rear hub. The caliper presses the pads against both faces, and internal vanes draw cooling air through the rotor to resist fade. Fits Discovery 5, Range Rover L405 and Range Rover Sport L494.
What does the coating do?
The coating covers the centre hat, edges and cooling vanes to resist corrosion. On the swept friction faces it wears away during bedding-in, so it doesn't affect braking. Common on the L405 and L494 rear discs and the Discovery 5.
How do I confirm this disc fits my vehicle?
