What is the NTC3241G front engine mounting?
The NTC3241G is a rubber-to-metal bonded front engine mounting for the VM turbo diesel Range Rover Classic. It bolts between the front of the engine and the chassis, taking the engine's weight at that point and damping vibration and torque reaction so it is not transmitted into the body.
Will the NTC3241G fit my Range Rover Classic?
The NTC3241G fits the Range Rover Classic, 1986 to 1994, fitted with the VM 2.4L or 2.5L turbo diesel engine, in the front mounting position. It will not suit the V8 petrol or other diesel engines, which use their own mounts, so confirm your engine type before ordering.
When should a VM diesel front engine mounting be replaced?
Replace a VM diesel front engine mounting once the rubber has perished, split or collapsed and the engine starts to sit low or move under load. Typical signs are increased vibration, clunking on acceleration and visible separation of the rubber from the metal. Fitting matching front mounts together keeps the engine sitting square.
