What is the STC3723 differential pinion flange kit?
The STC3723 is a three bolt differential pinion flange and mudshield kit. The flange bolts to the propshaft and transfers drive from the propshaft into the differential pinion. The mudshield sits behind it to keep road dirt off the pinion oil seal. It suits both front and rear axles.
Which vehicles take the three bolt pinion flange?
The STC3723 fits Discovery 1 from VIN FA393361 to WA799999, Discovery 2, and Range Rover Classic from VIN JA610294. Land Rover used more than one propshaft flange pattern across these axles, so count the bolt holes on your existing flange before ordering.
Should the pinion oil seal be replaced at the same time?
The pinion seal usually gets replaced whenever the flange comes off, since the seal runs directly on the flange surface and disturbing it often causes a leak.
