Conische rollagers - Differentieel pinion - Buiten is het buitenste pinionlager in de eindaandrijvingsconstructie van het differentieel, dat de pinionas ondersteunt waar deze de differentieelbehuizing binnengaat.

Het positioneert en stabiliseert het pignonwiel en draagt zowel de radiale als de axiale belastingen die ontstaan wanneer koppel wordt overgebracht naar het kroonwiel.

Samen met het binnenste pignonlager en de voorspanningsregeling zorgt het voor de juiste uitlijning van de tandwieloverbrenging en de rotatiestabiliteit binnen de differentieeleenheid.
