The Brake Drum Screw 1510 secures the brake drum to the wheel hub flange, preventing the drum from displacing during wheel removal and keeping it correctly aligned against the hub face. It is fitted to both front and rear drum brake assemblies on Series Land Rovers and the early Defender.

How many brake drum screws are typically needed per vehicle?

Typically two screws are used per brake drum. On a vehicle with four-corner drum brakes, a full replacement would typically require eight screws across all four wheels.

Does the 1510 fit all Defender variants?

On the Defender it fits drum brake applications up to 2006. Later Defenders or axles fitted with disc brakes do not use this screw at those positions. It covers Series I, II/IIA, and Series III across all drum brake variants.
