What does this accessory drive belt do?
This accessory drive belt is the multi-ribbed belt in the front end accessory drive. Driven from the crankshaft pulley, it transmits drive to the engine ancillaries via the tensioner and idler pulleys. Fitted to the 3.0L AJ20D6 Ingenium diesel inline-six.
Should the pulleys be replaced with the belt?
Inspect the tensioner and idler pulleys whenever the belt is renewed. A glazed, cracked or oil-contaminated belt should be replaced rather than re-tensioned on the 3.0L AJ20D6 diesel.
