What is the LR184623G drive belt for?

The LR184623G is the primary accessory drive belt for the 5.0L AJ133 supercharged V8 petrol engine in the Range Rover L405 (2013-2022) and Range Rover Sport L494 (2014-2022). This multi-ribbed serpentine belt drives the alternator, air conditioning compressor and water pump from the crankshaft. Dayco OEM.

Is this the supercharger belt or the main belt?

This is the primary belt that turns the alternator, A/C compressor and water pump on the 5.0 supercharged V8. The supercharger runs off a separate secondary belt, so check which belt you need before ordering. This LR184623G is the main front-end accessory drive belt.

Why does the drive belt need replacing?

Accessory drive belts crack, glaze and shed ribs with age and heat on the 5.0 V8 L405 and L494. Squealing on start-up, visible cracking across the ribs, or fraying edges mean the belt is due. Replace the automatic tensioner alongside a belt that has run to failure.
