It's the high-tension ignition lead for No.6 cylinder of the 4.0L and 4.6L Rover V8 petrol engine, carrying secondary ignition output from the coil assembly to the No.6 spark plug. Both ends have insulating boots sealing the coil terminal and the plug top.
Is the No.6 HT lead the same length as the other V8 leads?
No. Rover V8 leads are made to individual lengths matched to each cylinder's routing position. The No.6 lead isn't interchangeable with the lead for any other cylinder. Fitting the wrong lead to a cylinder is a common error when renewing leads individually rather than as a full set.
