What is the LR004440LR gasket for?
This is the cylinder head cover gasket, sealing the joint between the camshaft (rocker) cover and the cylinder head on the 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi diesel. It contains oil around the camshaft and valvetrain on the Land Rover Defender 2007-2016 (Puma).
When should this gasket be replaced?
Replace this gasket whenever the rocker cover is removed, and if oil is seeping from the top of the cylinder head. The gasket hardens with heat and age, so refitting the cover with an old one typically causes an oil leak. It's a standard renew-on-removal item.
