Schokdemper achter maakt deel uit van de dempingsconstructie van de achterwielophanging. Het regelt de trilling van de veer, de demping van de as- en carrosseriebewegingen om de band in contact te houden met het wegdek en de rit en de wegligging te stabiliseren.

Dit is de passieve demper specificatie, gemonteerd op voertuigen die zijn gebouwd zonder het elektronisch gestuurde Adaptive Dynamics dempingssysteem. Het wordt gemonteerd tussen de achterwielophanging en de carrosserie en werkt samen met de schroefveer om wegomstandigheden op te vangen.
