ABS-modulator voor het vierwielige antiblokkeerremsysteem, vormt de hydraulische regeleenheid van het ABS-circuit.

De modulator bevindt zich tussen de hoofdremcilinder en de wielremcircuits en herbergt de magneetventielen en pomp die de remleidingdruk bij elk wiel regelen. Onder controle van de ABS ECU moduleert deze de druk om te voorkomen dat de wielen blokkeren tijdens hard remmen, waardoor de stuurcontrole en remstabiliteit behouden blijven. Deze wordt vervangen wanneer interne klep- of pompfouten, of hydraulische lekken, een correcte ABS-werking verhinderen.

What does the ABS modulator do?
The ABS modulator is the hydraulic control unit of the four-wheel ABS on the Discovery 2. It houses the solenoid valves and pump that regulate brake-line pressure at each wheel, and under the ABS ECU it modulates pressure to stop the wheels locking during heavy braking, keeping steering and stability.
Where is the ABS modulator fitted?
The ABS modulator sits in the engine bay between the master cylinder and the four wheel brake circuits on the Discovery 2. Brake lines from the master cylinder feed into it, and individual lines run out to each wheel, with the ABS ECU controlling its valves and pump.
Which part numbers can replace this modulator?
